HOMEMADE MARSHMALLOWS: FOUR FLAVOR IDEAS
LAST MONTH, I MADE HOMEMADE MARSHMALLOWS FOR MY DAUGHTER'S SPRINKLES BIRTHDAY PARTY, AND THEY WERE JUST SO POPULAR!
So I thought a few different marshmallow flavors would be the perfect thing to officially kick off my Flavor Ideas Series.
Just follow the recipe HERE, and change up the flavorings according to the ideas below!
1. PEPPERMINT SWIRL MARSHMALLOWS:
TO MAKE: Follow my Homemade Marshmallows recipe HERE, using a few drops of peppermint essence to flavor the mixture. Before putting in the pan to set, sprinkle a few drops of red food coloring on top, and swirl through the mixture with a palette knife or skewer. Finish making them as per the recipe.
These Peppermint Swirl Marshmallows look as pretty as they are delicious, and they would be great in the wintertime with hot chocolate.
2. TURKISH DELIGHT MARSHMALLOWS:
TO MAKE: Follow my Homemade Marshmallows recipe HERE, flavoring the mixture with rosewater and tinting it a very pale pink with red food coloring. After putting it in the pan to set, sprinkle with roughly chopped pistachio nuts. Finish making the marshmallows as per the recipe.
3. PEACH & COCONUT MARSHMALLOWS:
TO MAKE: Follow my Homemade Marshmallows recipe HERE without using any flavorings. Before putting in the pan to set, add a few tablespoons of sieved peach jam and stir well to combine. When set, cut into squares with a straight bladed knife and coat in shredded coconut.
4. PEANUT BUTTER & CHOCOLATE MARSHMALLOWS:
TO MAKE: Follow my Homemade Marshmallow recipe HERE, using a little vanilla essence to flavor the mixture. Before putting into the pan to set, add a few tablespoons of crunchy peanut butter and stir well to combine. When set, cut with a round biscuit cutter and drizzle with milk chocolate.
So there you go :) I hope you enjoy trying these extra Homemade Marshmallow flavors!
All the best,
Eliza.
