HOME ORGANIZER: GROCERY LISTS

TODAY I HAVE FREE PRINTABLE GROCERY LISTS FOR EVERYONE!

Years ago when I started doing my Home Organizer, I lived in the center of Melbourne and did most of my shopping at the Victoria Markets (I know, I was spoiled rotten!).

However once every two months or so, I would trek out to the nearest supermarket and buy all my pantry things (this was before there was a decent sized supermarket in the city).

I had no car, so out I would go on the tram, and I'd haul it all home again. Let me tell you, Supermarket Day was a serious mission!

Anyway, it was about this time that I got my grocery lists sorted, and put together my Master Grocery List because I just couldn't afford to forget something on Supermarket Day and pay double the price for it at 7 Eleven - if they even stocked what I was after.

The Master Grocery List is, quite simply, a list of every single thing I buy at the supermarket. Herbs and spices, random condiments, toiletries, cleaning supplies, baking ingredients, breads, meat etc, you get the picture.

I just scan through it when I'm putting my grocery list and meal planners for the fortnight together, and its generally enough of a mental prod for me to remember I've used something up or prevent me forgetting something I buy every week.

For me, this method is much easier than going to the cupboard and trying to figure out what's missing lol.

I'm not going to lie, it takes a little bit of work to put together, but the time saved in not running back and forth to the grocery store every few days makes it all worthwhile!

So here are my free printable grocery lists!

1. GENERAL SHOPPING LIST:

This is the basic one to fill in and take with you to the supermarket every week, fortnight or month :)

2. FILL IN MASTER GROCERY LIST:

This is a blank Master Grocery List for you to fill out and personalize for your family. This can take a bit of work, but I promise you it's worth it in the end.

The sections I've included are: bakery, dairy, delicatessen, butcher, pantry, canned, herbs and spices, baking, frozen, drinks, toiletries, baby, household (cleaning etc) and pets - phew!

Now, the two major things I haven't included? Fruit and vegetables.

Why? Because we always try to eat seasonally - it tastes better, is better for you and is better on your budget.

You can find my Seasonal Fruit and Vegetable printable here - I just attach mine to the front of my Master Grocery List so I never forget and can work my meals and shopping around what's in season.

3. MY MASTER GROCERY LIST:

Just for those who wondered what mine was like, or those wanting to use a basic one instead of filling in their own. Here you go. (And we don't have pets - I just put these few items in for those who might as I had room.)
