HOME ORGANIZER: KIDS CHORE CHARTS
When I was growing up, chores were non-negotiable - just something we had to do to help out around the house.
There were various times I hated doing them, but when I left home I was able to look after myself easily and that, of course, is the point - chores give your kids responsibility, accountability and important life skills.
Besides, now that we've done the housework organizers for us mums, I couldn't let the kids get off scot free! (Watch out all you blokes - I'll be on to you next.....!)
Anyway, these Free Printable Chore Charts last for a week and have room for 10 chores each day.
The kids can tick off, stamp, or put a sticker in the circle when they've completed each item.
For the little ones who can't read, its an incidental way to begin teaching them letters and words as you tick off the items together.
I've tried to make these pretty flexible, because there are dozen's of 'methods' for teaching kids about chores out there, so there is room on the left side to add any pocket money notes, extra chores they've completed etc.
Now, I will tell you - I don't actually use this chart yet, as Missy is still such an obliging little thing and wants to help me do everything.
I dare say though, the time will come when she doesn't find helping me to be quite so wonderful - and then I'll certainly be printing off one of these!
These free printables would be perfect for a toddler right through to late primary school, and it should be easy for them to choose a favorite color.
Teens may not overly appreciate the cute elephant design, so if you have teens, I'd go with a more grownup Daily Housework Routine or Weekly Housework Planner which I've already posted about.
So there you go, hopefully this will help you and your kids get those chores organized!
